diagnosis: Depression

Description

Depression is one of the most researched disorders for both group and individual therapies. This amount of research matches its prevalence and burden for depressed individuals (Janis et al., 2021). For this disorder, we included group treatments with more than 2 randomized controlled trials demonstrating efficacy. Each disorder included had many more than 2 trials given the amount of research attention depression has received. One caution about the evidence is the relatively low number of treatments which measured the impacts of treatment on diverse populations.

Some of the resources we included were originally intended for individual therapy but can be adapted to group. This is particularly true for the cognitive and behavioral therapies. The promising therapies for depression page includes additional therapies with promising emerging research.
